Integrated BIM tools for Revit® users for timber framed building design and construction

Wood Framing Suite gives a better way to design main structures of timber framed buildings. This powerful and flexible BIM software lets Revit® users design multi-layer timber-frame walls, floors and roofs. That includes prefabricated panels, rafters and trusses. Plus it generates views with automatic dimensions for wall panels or segments as well as accurate bills of materials and shop drawings. So quality production and accurate assembly on site are ensured.

Advanced automation and built-in best practices help BIM professionals make optimal choices, move faster, and avoid errors at every stage – from design and documentation to fabrication and construction. With our Revit-based wood framing software, it’s easy to quickly batch-add, modify or mark just the right elements or parameters, distribute hardware and fastener details, manage openings and connections, and find clashes. Frames dynamically update and adapt if modifications are made, ensuring that shop drawings and cut lists are always accurate.

AGACAD becomes Autodesk AEC Industry Partner for Wood Framing

PRESS RELEASE – Vilnius, 4 February 2020

AGACAD Wood Framing Suite makes your job in Revit much simpler, faster and less stressful.

DESIGN INTEGRATE FABRICATE

Whether you're designing single-story residential or multi-story commercial buildings, Wood Framing Suite delivers accurate and efficient modeling in Revit. The Multi-Framing feature for copying and updating framing elements and documentation for identical walls, floors and roofs radically reduces the time needed to model large-scale projects. Analytical lines of individual panel frames are inter-connected and aligned in the same plane, so they can be exported to structural analysis software for further full-scale analysis.

Coordination of BIM teams is greatly enhanced by integrating WF Suite with the Cut Opening BIM Solution, which identifies structural and engineering clashes throughout your Revit® model and creates openings with fire safety components for all MEP services and building structures at the relevant intersections.

Frames created with WF Suite may be exported for production to a WEINMANN, Randek or various other CNC machines or CAD/CAM production lines. Optional CNC export is good for workflow integration, eliminates duplicate work and reduces room for error.

Floor Panel Layout

PREFABRICATED FLOOR PANELING

Take the architect’s designed floor and automate panel layout planning. The software Floor Panel Layout draws symbolic lines to indicate the future panels according to predefined rules. Then it creates real Revit® floor panels.

  • Panel Layout Planning includes functions for better understanding how the floor will be divided. Users can control every division line and automate the division process by predefined rules
  • From the beginning, the architect’s designed floor can be divided into coarse partitions, or Regions. Regions can be created automatically by using Floor edges and supports (split lines), and also by Generic or System Openings with predefined distances
  • Regions can be divided into Panels by predefined spacing
  • Panels can be aligned, modified by selected floor face, and additionally split
  • Various automated splitting functions facilitate the process: users can split the panels in half, by maximum spacing, by middle to both ends, in middle and to both ends, from first selected, or from both ends
  • Selected Regions or Panels can be joined, if needed
  • Creates individual panels for the selected floor face or for the whole floor
  • These entire floor Panels can later be moved into the new phase through its Properties for better filtering and scheduling

Roof Panel Layout

PREFABRICATED ROOF PANELING

Plan roof panels easily and split them into segments for prefabrication which can be used in the roof framing process.

  • Panel Layout Planning functions let you better understand how a roof will be divided. User can control every division line and can predefine rules to automate the division process.
  • Initially an architectural roof can be divided into coarse partitions, or regions. Regions can be created automatically based on ends of roof ridges and bottom ends of valley rafters as well as windows and generic or system openings with predefined distances.
  • Regions can be divided into panels using predefined spacing.
  • Panels can be aligned and modified for an individual roof side or region and additionally split.
  • A variety of automated splitting functions make it easy to get the needed result. Panels can be split in half a variety of ways: by maximum spacing, from the middle to both ends, in the middle and to both ends, from the initially selected end, or from both ends.
  • Selected regions or panels can be joined, if needed.
  • Creates individual panels for the selected roof side or for the whole roof.
  • The full roof panels can later be taken to a new phase via their properties for better filtering and scheduling.
