AGACAD will be heading to the Mile High City this week to exhibit at The Precast Show – the largest trade show in North America exclusively dedicated to precast.

Naturally we’re looking forward to this outstanding opportunity to showcase our software to the industry in the US! If you're not familiar with our precast software for Revit®, here's a quick summary of how it supports the advancement of the precast industry.

Thanks to all who attended our recent webinar on Precast Concrete. Our engineer showed how to model a precast parking garage, complete with detailing and shop drawings. This webinar was unique because he showed how to use Metal Framing Floor+ to add double tee slabs. He put together the condensed version of the webinar below to show the process of modeling a parking garage the way he did.

New versions of our Wood & Metal Framing software for Revit have been released! The improvements included in Wall+, Floor+, and Roof Panel Frame solutions let you easily sort and number walls, structural framing elements, and structural connection elements by your own specific rules configured via Sort Mark. Also, by using additional options you’ll be able to split parts and number elements at the same time as a wall is being framed — and update the details automatically!

In the enhanced versions, you’ve got these new functions in the “Shop Drawings” menu:

  • Numbering Setup – opens a window in which you’ll be able to set numbering rules for walls, structural framing, and structural connection elements by using functionality from the framing software and Sort Mark configurations
  • Number Walls – numbers all walls by the configuration, set in the “Numbering Setup”
  • Number Elements – numbers all structural framing and structural connection elements by the configuration, set in the “Numbering Setup”

Precast ConcreteOver the past several months, we've held webinars about modeling and documenting precast concrete slabs, walls, columns and beams in Revit®. With our Precast Concrete BIM Solution, you can split floors into various types of slabs and divide walls into panels. Distribute connectors, cuts, plates, supports, anchors, grout tubes and other details en masse according to predefined rules, and then modify details to match the level of detail required. Automatically sort elements according to predefined rules. And finish off by generating shop drawings with automated dimensions, views, schedules, and sheets.

If you missed those webinars or would like to see them again, we'll be more than happy to send a link to the recording. Contact us HERE.

Meanwhile, here's a set of short videos we've produced that give a brief look at each aspect of our Precast software.

Once again, we’re happy to join with Itannex, our Dutch Partner, in hosting another webinar about modeling and documenting precast concrete in Revit®. This time the focus will be on columns and beams.

October 25th at 10:00 – 10:30 AM CEST.

That's 3 AM in Chicago, 9 AM in London, 12-noon in Dubai, 7 PM down-under in Sydney. Wherever you may be, it'd be our pleasure to have you join in.

(Opening remarks in Dutch, precast content in English.)

Sort Mark is a powerful tool AGACAD developed that can renumber graphical, architectural, and structural Revit® elements in many ways. It determines swing direction and orientation and adds them as properties, recalculates shared coordinates, and much more. While all that sounds great, it’s gotten even better with the latest release.

Remember Sort Mark? Now it will remember you!

In the latest version, you’ll be able to add a Configuration File’s Location.

This Finnish engineering firm says its design services have benefited greatly from the tools in AGACAD’s Precast Concrete suite for Revit®, which are now at the core of the company’s processes for element design and shop drawings.

Everyone probably knows how tiring and time-consuming numbering elements in Revit can be, especially when you have hundreds or even thousands in a project. And what if you need to renumber them later? Or write values like door swing direction and orientation? There must be a way to do all of this automatically...

Luckily there is! AGACAD's Sort Mark for Revit can do all that -- and more!

The Sort Mark extension allows users to sort/renumber Revit elements in various ways and to add additional information to any selected elements. Sort Mark automatically sorts graphical elements (grids), architectural elements (doors, windows, rooms, etc.), and structural elements (columns, beams, etc.). The tool allows users to save specific localized sort and mark configuration settings for later use in the current project or a future one.
