Autodesk University bannerWe're looking forward to exhibiting at Autodesk University this coming November in Las Vegas. Hopefully many of you – our clients and contacts – will be there to share ideas about driving building design forward.

Our focus will be on three areas:

There's been a lot of development in AEC, and we're staying at the forefront of it to make sure our software users have most productive BIM Solutions and add-ons for Revit out there, particularly for wood framing, metal framing, precast concrete, and MEP work

We've been hard at work testing our brand new DOCK* against Revit 2020 to ensure complete compatibility. To those of you who have been anxiously awaiting the news, thank you for your patience. We're glad to say our tools are ready to use with Revit 2020!*The Dock is an interactive window in Autodesk® Revit® that allows you to access and manage all Revit® products developed by AGACAD.

Here's how to get our tools running on Revit 2020.

For current users of our software

To companies/individuals who have an active license maintenance/subscription of at least one of our tools, we've sent an email containing software activation codes and a link to download our 2020 Tools4BIM Dock. (If you can't find it in your inbox, please check your spam folder.)

NB: If you're with a company, please ask your BIM manager or IT coordinator for these codes.

This post is about the Dynamo script for reinforcement created during our Precast Concrete webinar entitled "BIM modeling in Revit, CAM, drawings and reinforcement using Dynamo" (hosted May 9, 2019; recording available on YouTube). It should be helpful for anyone interested in modeling reinforcement more efficiently.

During the webinar we added some precast elements and placed connections and reinforcement. We also showed how to auto-generate shop drawings with Revit® and the Precast Concrete add-on developed by AGACAD. For the reinforcement, we produced a Dynamo script to create rebar based on 4 selected edges of the Host element with some simple parameters to control the rebar size and number.

Important notes: This post is intended for Revit 2019 and later editions since some nodes for rebar are not available in previous versions. We also suggest you review the additional Packages added to Dynamo (the add-ons in the image below). The reinforcement settings for Revit elements are already set to the correct values.

We invite you to join our upcoming webinar about modeling precast concrete in Revit. If you're interested in modeling rebar, don't miss out on this webinar! You'll see how to place rebar automatically using Revit reinforcement tools in tandem with Dynamo scripts that we've developed. Creating strands for walls is fast and easy as well as placing rebar around openings.

This webinar is ideal for structural engineers, designers & drafters, BIM modelers & detailers, CAD engineers & technicians. It's also ideal for companies in building design & engineering, consultancy, and manufacturing.

Our team has arrived in Louisville, the Gateway to the South, for The Precast Show. Time to get the booth all set up for the grand opening of the Show at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

If you're involved in the design and fabrication of precast concrete and you'll be at the Show, Valensas and Jan (see their mugshots below) can show how to streamline your process. They especially hope to re-connect with existing users to talk about your further needs and expectations. They look forward to meeting you at right by the bookstore!

At the end of February, AGACAD will be heading to Louisville, KY to exhibit at The Precast Show – the largest trade show in North America exclusively dedicated to precast.

When: February 28 – March 2, 2019
Where: Kentucky International Convention Center, booth #789

Last year in Denver was our first time exhibiting at TPS, so we’re fired up about returning to this outstanding event to showcase our software to the US precast industry, especially since becoming an Autodesk AEC Industry Partner – specifically for precast – in October 2018.

Manning our booth will be Valensas and Jan, our BIM application engineer and project manager, who can share how our Precast Concrete BIM Solution for Revit is driving the precast industry forward. We're especially hoping to meet our existing users face-to-face to talk about your further needs and expectations.

Thank you.
