We're hosting a webinar to highlight a new function of our Framing software: automated framing of wood or metal floors. Whether your floors are simple or complex, you can frame them with speed and ease. We're here to show you how in this webinar!

We kindly invite all current users of our Framing software as well as potential users to attend this half-hour webinar. Come hear about the latest features that make framing floors in Revit easier than ever.

Registration is open and free!

In this webinar about framing timber or light-gauge steel floors, you’ll see the entire workflow: from having a simple floor modeled in Revit to auto-generating multilayer floor framing using Wood Framing Floor+. Not enough?

This Nordic engineering firm says AGACAD’s BIM software has brought big efficiency gains for its precast concrete and wood framing projects, helped it win new clients, and enabled the company to handle more complex projects.

Client Profile

JPS-Konsult AB, based in Vrigstad, Sweden, specializes in the design of precast concrete and wood-frame buildings, mainly for residential use.

Business Need

While upgrading itself from 2D to 3D design, to be more modern and competitive in the market, JPS-Konsult ran into productivity issues with its new Autodesk® Revit® software. Revit required so much time-consuming manual work that the company was tempted to go back to AutoCAD®.

“We tried to make shop drawings with plain Revit, and soon realized that there had to be a better way,” recalls CEO Johannes Svensson.

So the firm began looking for ways to get all the great benefits of BIM for its precast concrete and timber projects, but without having to waste so much valuable time. Specifically, it needed automated view layouts, dimensioning and material take-off, plus ways to quickly insert elements to achieve greater detailing. This functionality had to be easy to learn and use.

Svensson says he did a major search and concluded that AGACAD had the most powerful solutions for his needs. It’s also the only one with a software portfolio broad enough to support both wood and concrete projects.

I will go straight to the point – Revit is not enough for structural engineers. It has quite good tools to model forms of precast elements. And it’s ok for preliminary design. But when you have to go into details, you probably ask yourself every time – why did we choose Revit to be our main software for everyday work? While our friends, colleagues in other companies use Tekla and have no complains?

It should not be like this that’s why we developed add-ons for precast structures to improve work efficiency in Revit and be able to compete with other companies in the market. You don’t have to miss out on easier design work or regret that your models are Revit models, with Precast Concrete Suite you can solve most of the headaches in structures discipline and then you will begin enjoying working with Revit.

TOOLS4BIM Dock Gets Revit® 2017 Support and New Free Revit App

AGACAD is pleased to announce that all AGACAD applications for Autodesk® Revit® included in our tool management system TOOLS4BIM Dock* have already been updated for Revit 2017. From now on, AGACAD TOOLS4BIM products are compatible with all versions of Revit 2017 (excluding Revit LT) as well as the previous Revit 2016 & 2015**.

The main novelty of the TOOLS4BIM Dock 2017 version – it contains new Revit add-in named Smart Select that allows Revit users to select desired architectural, structural or MEP elements automatically by user configured parameters in just a few clicks.

It seems that this year will be the first, when everything is going according to plan. Autodesk company is about to release Autodesk® Revit® 2017 on April 17th 2017, while AGACAD plans to release its newest TOOLS4BIM products’ versions... on April 17th as well!

We are still working on our products’ 2017 versions but they are nearly ready. 2017 version testing is in full swing and is nearly completed. Most of AGACAD TOOLS4BIM products are already tested and work perfectly in Revit 2017 version environment. Our technical team needs to check just a few more BIM solutions, and if bugs don’t rush us over, the newest versions’ preparations will be complete. And voila! – You can use the new Revit version together with productivity-enhancing applications designed for Revit.

We are grateful to all AGACAD customers and followers, who are interested in our developed applications and use them. We are particularly thankful to all those who actively communicate with us, expressing their suggestions, wishes, needs, and thus contribute to further improvement of AGACAD software.

Only with your help, we can include best BIM practices in our BIM solutions and extensions for Autodesk® Revit®. Our mission is sharing BIM advances and we are happy that this sharing process is mutual: your insights help us develop ways to speed up the design process using Revit software.

We know that Revit users are constantly working in many directions: modeling, documenting, analyzing, etc. Therefore architects, MEP & structural engineers, and contractors need different tools that let them work more efficiently while performing their daily tasks. Understanding how busy Revit users are, we offer to use an excellent collection of Revit add-ons T4R Productivity Suite that reduces project accomplishment time and saves you energy, making juggling all of your tasks a breeze.

To thank all our current and new customers and celebrate Christmas, we are launching Christmas PROMO during the period from Thanksgiving Day until Christmas. For this limited time the T4R Productivity Suite Promotion offers 50% discount on an annual standalone license.

In this post, I would like to talk about modeling of concrete structures in Autodesk® Revit®. After I switched from AutoCAD to Revit, I never wanted to get back to 2D drawings and previous workflow. Anyway, I always seek perfection and there is a long way ahead for Revit to fit all engineer’s needs. Our company has understood this a long time ago and we started developing tools for Revit users’ efficiency: simple apps and powerful BIM solutions.

I will mention a few of our tools here for your consideration and usage in structural modeling process.

On the 1st of October, we’ll give you some valuable information about precast concrete design that is topical for architects, engineers, and others on the construction team.

Structural precast concrete elements must comply with architectural ideas of modern buildings, and their technological capabilities give designers more versatility to face a wide variety of design challenges. But engineering process, like modeling of precast elements, is often confusing and time-consuming, therefore efficiency in design (as well as production, delivery, erection, etc.) is very relevant to architects, structural engineers and others in building industry.

Please join us in a free 60 min. webinar on the best ways to model and prepare documentation of precast/prestressed concrete elements with the help of Revit® extensions.
