We welcome Revit® Architecture and Revit® Structure users to our FREE WEBINAR on quick and professional modelling and making of workshop drawings of wall framing in Revit® project.

Wall Framing & Workshop Drawings in Revit®

Live on Thursday, 27 February

During this webinar you’ll see how much time will be saved using our BIM solution Wall+ which is a timber framing application for Autodesk® Revit®.

Join us for 45 min and watch in action how to:

  • frame walls and generate workshop drawings;
  • update framing by wall changes;
  • define and save your own multiple framing configurations by the wall type.

As you know, we are constantly adding new products to AGA CAD product portfolio. Hope it would be interesting to you to know that we are currently working on the newest product Smart Assemblies. This product is not officially released yet, but it will be released very soon (perhaps within one month).

As you know, we are constantly adding new products to AGA CAD product portfolio. Hope it would be interesting to you to know that we are currently working on the newest product Smart Assemblies. This product is not officially released yet, but it will be released very soon (perhaps within one month).

I want to briefly describe our new product's purpose. Smart Assemblies is a BIM solution for Autodesk® Revit® users that provides a set of intuitive tools for generation of workshop drawings. Revit user just needs to select structural beam, column, wall, floor or other structural element, and the application will collect all the rebar and other hosted concrete or steel elements and make an assembly with predefined views and schedules.

We get a lot of questions about our software and linked files operation together. Today I will explain about the possibility to work with linked files using Smart Diffusers, powerful BIM solution for Autodesk® Revit® MEP for ventilation system design. Tools of Smart Diffusers are relevant for all Revit MEP users because Smart Diffusers enables to quickly distribute air terminals in the spaces and easily modify them.

Imagine that we have added required engineering information into our created air terminals.

Here is a question from MEP engineer who designs fire protection systems using Revit® MEP: We don't layout sprinklers in architect drawing instead we link architect drawing and do layout sprinkler in our drawing. This may prevent me from picking a wall since architect drawing is linked in our drawing. How to distribute sprinklers in the linked Autodesk Revit files easily?

Truss+ 3While developing our solution for truss modelling in Autodesk® Revit® Truss+ RT we have come up with some fixes that let users use the solution more stably. There were some issues with Revit® 2014, especially with metal trusses due to Revit's limitations to minimum lengths.

We've found that with certain conditions faces of Revit® families reach the minimum length of 1/32 in. (0.8 mm) allowable by Autodesk® Revit® and cause families to collapse. We've done a workaround and put the entire package to the Update to avoid this issue.

We've updated Revit® truss families and Truss+ RT itself. For stable use of it, use the new Revit® trusses that come with new Truss+ RT update ONLY.

Hi all Excel2Revit lovers! We know that there are a lot of Excel2Revit users all over the world who like this easy-to-use tool. Today we have big news for all of you.

Inasmuch as Autodesk is the registered owner of the Revit® trademark in the United States and more than a dozen international jurisdictions, including the European Community, we must rename our products missing Revit® trademarks on our product names. So we have released new version of Excel2Revit that was renamed to Excel2R. Like previously, this Autodesk Revit add-on enables to quickly insert MS Excel data into your Revit projects. Herewith, we have decided to improve work with Excel data and now Excel2R became more effective.

So what's new in Excel2R v2014.3 and v2013.3:

After the first step when I have explained how to model the architectural part of the building and its roof, today I'll describe the most convenient way to design Rafter roof:

I'll make rafters using Rafter+ tool from Wood Framing Pro suite. It works out of the box. Rafter+ has its own modifiable structural framings, which loads as soon as you use one of its functions for rafter system distribution.

Designers across the world are trying to find the answer how to easily model their roof designs in Autodesk® Revit® platform. This series of articles will explain how to easily do that by using Wood Framing Pro suite developed by AGA CAD Ltd. As Wood Framing Pro works exceptionally only with native Revit® element families, articles contains useful Revit® tips and tricks for everyday use. These will also have different common roof types and structural solutions (for example same type of roof can be done using rafters or trusses, so both will be covered in these articles).
