When our project managers noticed that the workflow with assemblies is complicated in Revit, we started to work on our newest BIM solution. As we informed you few weeks ago, our team has created the new product called Smart Assemblies. This Revit®-based BIM solution was officially released on 26th February 2014.

t4r_logo_80x80Our company is glad to announce that last year we acquired more than 4,500 new customers of T4R© (Tools 4 Revit) extensions and AGA CAD BIM Solutions. Compared to the 2012's year activities, the number of AGA CAD product users has increased by 25%, and total amount of AGA CAD product commercial licenses already exceeds 8,500. As it can be seen from the market trends, Autodesk® Revit® extensions are becoming more and more popular, so we expect that sales of AGA CAD products will grow for the third this year.

Our team seeks to create products which increase the designers' work rate and quality, therefore designers from different countries like them. Increased quantity of sales confirms that our products meet expectations of Revit users. Next year we expect even more sales as we are finalizing to implement the system Show How, helping to quickly and easily learn how to use the software.

Let's assume you're structural engineer or modeller in the firm that designs framed or modular buildings. Most of the work is done in BIM applications these days to coordinate the design and solve all nasty problems in software rather than in field.

wall framing 2Modelling is not an easy job to do, there are a lot of thoughts around the smallest elements in a project depending on what detail level a designer tries to achieve. More detail pays off, as the building is being constructed for the first in the computer (with all related problems), and for the second time, building it in reality these problems have already been solved. On the other side it is a very time consuming work and might take as much as real construction if not thought through.

BIM software such as Autodesk® Revit® allows all designers to be at one page and realize their decisions in a model. It lets a designer to be capable of modelling in such detail that every part or element might be in a model. But if not automated it can become a nightmare. So helpers are crucial to get things done quickly.

As you know, we are constantly adding new products to AGA CAD product portfolio. Hope it would be interesting to you to know that we are currently working on the newest product Smart Assemblies. This product is not officially released yet, but it will be released very soon (perhaps within one month).

As you know, we are constantly adding new products to AGA CAD product portfolio. Hope it would be interesting to you to know that we are currently working on the newest product Smart Assemblies. I want to briefly describe our new product's purpose. Smart Assemblies is a BIM solution for Autodesk® Revit® users that provides a set of intuitive tools for generation of workshop drawings. Revit user just needs to select structural beam, column, wall, floor or other structural element, and the application will collect all the rebar and other hosted concrete or steel elements and make an assembly with predefined views and schedules.

Here is a question from MEP engineer who designs fire protection systems using Revit® MEP: We don't layout sprinklers in architect drawing instead we link architect drawing and do layout sprinkler in our drawing. This may prevent me from picking a wall since architect drawing is linked in our drawing. How to distribute sprinklers in the linked Autodesk Revit files easily?

Truss+ 3While developing our solution for truss modelling in Autodesk® Revit® Truss+ RT we have come up with some fixes that let users use the solution more stably. There were some issues with Revit® 2014, especially with metal trusses due to Revit's limitations to minimum lengths.

We've found that with certain conditions faces of Revit® families reach the minimum length of 1/32 in. (0.8 mm) allowable by Autodesk® Revit® and cause families to collapse. We've done a workaround and put the entire package to the Update to avoid this issue.

We've updated Revit® truss families and Truss+ RT itself. For stable use of it, use the new Revit® trusses that come with new Truss+ RT update ONLY.
