Cut Opening LTOur BIM solution Cut Opening Pro that automatically creates openings around the MEP elements (ducts, pipes, etc.) in floors, walls, roofs, ceilings, beams, and columns, is easy and intuitive to use what our clients like the most. Other positive points designers using Cut Opening Pro noted:
- Ability to add many shared parameter to the openings (generic models), especially the bottom shared elevation;
- The auto-detection of isolation thickness;
- The ability to use linked Autodesk® Revit® models.

If you need to have any opening graphics in your project drawings, Cut Opening Pro will help you too. Here is an example with a question of our client:

hollow core panel

I know that some Revit® users always use the beam tool to draw hollow-core planks designing a  floor system. However, my colleagues and I have noticed that beams are not good solution for hollow-core panels. First of all,  it is very difficult to cut ends of such beam especially if it’s not rectangular. Second, the beam has one analytical line in the middle. It causes difficulties with adding loads and moving the BIM model to analytical software. So we have decided to make such panels under Floor category. Using our extension for Revit Smart Floors it is very easy to apply a panel as a floor type.

Rotate iconIt‘s always very important for us that our products meet our customer needs. Therefore when we received few client requests (from the USA, Australia, the Netherlands) to improve work with element view in shop drawings (they asked for a possibility to ‘flip’ the view around), our programming department has started work to develop new functionality.

So last week we added new feature to BIM solution Smart Assemblies that creates assemblies and corresponding views from selected Walls, Parts, Floors, Structural Framings, Architectural Columns, Structural Columns or Structural Foundations in the project. New functionality allows you to control element rotation in all assembly views.

Replace Revit element with BIM Tree Manager-4Welcome all our blog readers! I came back to work today after my summer holidays and started working with new energy. After the rest I don't want to solve complex problems (that's natural for a human being, isn't it?), so my first article is committed to describe a simple client's issue. And the question is: “Has 'Tools 4 Revit' any function in Revit 2014 for replacing door families inside groups with new families besides going in to group edit mode?"
My answer is: yes, of course, it has.

bimm-treeOur programmers have been hardly working during this summer heat until we have got a desirable result: like many other tools for Revit and AGA CAD BIM solutions, BIM Tree Manager is already compatible with Autodesk® Revit® 2015!

Our team refers BIM Tree Manager the most powerful BIM solution for Revit that is relevant for all Revit users. It helps solve many Revit user's headaches and makes effortless design, modeling and documentation processes for architects, structural or MEP engineers, and BIM project managers as well.

During the developing time of our newest solution for metal wall framing, our team has decided to improve our other BIM solution for timber wall frame design. So on the 1st July we released Wood Framing Wall+ (earlier known as just Wall+) new version 2015.2 (2014.4). It is created using new technology and new Revit® framing families, leaving some parts in user interface that are well known to this software users. So they will not be confused because of the changes and will be able to easily accustom to the new menu and improved wall framing work method.

We made a better tool with much more capabilities, speed and ease of use.

Many of our clients using time saving tool Sort Mark like this Revit® extension flexibility. Sort Mark easily sorts and renumbers any Revit graphical, architectural and structural elements and adds a “mark" value in the way that Revit user needs. I have decided to dedicate today's post for Sort Mark flexibility and I'll show you a real example how to sort and number Revit elements in your required order.

First of all, let me start with the question that was sent by one of our clients: “For the 'Sort Number' command I can't get it to number my columns from 'left to right and top to bottom'. See below the numbering I want to achieve. Can you help me with what parameters I need to have in the fields? I'm using the 'mark' parameter:

Metal_Wall+_Framed-Wall-Sample-2Metal wall framing, or light gauge steel framing, is an alternative to traditional wood framing. It has been the standard of commercial construction in the United States of America and many other countries. Also this light gauge metal stud framing is widely available in dwelling construction in Australia, New Zealand, and the same USA.

Many architects and structural engineers who use Autodesk® Revit® know what high challenge is a demand to create a full framing layout in 3D. Framed system should be very accurate. Also it is desirable that the framing process should be creatively flexible. Our product managers, who have practical experience as designers and professional Revit users as well, also saw a demand for productivity increasing in this design field. So after long working days, today we are happy to announce that the newest AGA CAD BIM solution Metal Framing Wall+ has been officially released.
