Thanks to all who participated in our webinar last week focusing on framing metal (light-gauge steel) walls in Revit®. Our structural engineer Valensas showed the capabilities of the Metal Framing Walls BIM Solution, including some new features for doing bracing and using headers with diagonal members.

The webinar was recorded, so if you didn’t get to attend or would just like to watch it again, simply let us know at events@aga-cad.com and we’ll send that to you ASAP!

In the meantime, here’s a short preview of what the webinar covered:

The October 2017 edition of “AGACAD ADVANCES” takes a look at new and improved features of Wood & Metal Framing, a success story with Precast Concrete, automating MEP hangers and supports, and more. Get the scoop!

AGACAD Advances October 2017

Also highlighted in this edition is the upcoming release of BIMAXON. Something we've been looking forward to for quite a while!

AGACAD will be at BILT Europe in Aarhus, Denmark, on October 5-7.

Visit us at booth #20 for a preview of BIMAXON – the new-generation building information management platform we plan to launch during Autodesk University in November.

Imagine data from all sources in only one place with real-time access, for BIM with infinite dimensions and more. We’ll have a HoloLens to show it off with AR – one of an unbelievable number of potential uses.

We’d like to thank all those who attended our recent webinar about framing Prefabricated Roof Panels in Revit®. Our architectural engineer Eve demonstrated the workflow of splitting a roof into panels and then framing them, using our software for Wood / Metal Framing Prefab Roof Panels BIM Solution.

If you missed the webinar or would like to view it again, the full recording is available. Just write us at events@aga-cad.com, and we’ll be glad to get that right to you!

Meanwhile, here's a brief look at what the webinar covered.

In August we were in Toronto for BILT North America. Now, we’re getting ready to head to BILT Europe, which will be held October 5-7 in Aarhus, Denmark. We hope many of you will be able to come, and if you are, please come visit us at booth 20!

Along with all of our BIM Solutions software, our engineers Jokubas and Valensas and CEO Donatas are excited to show something else as well: where we see BIM heading. Imagine you're walking through a building and when you look at something -- a door, window, vent, light fixture, anything in your model -- you see all and only the information you need.

Here at AGACAD, that's what we envision. A whole new realm of possibilities is opening up with AR (Augmented Reality) and BIM working together. We'll be showing a cloud-based solution for classification of elements called BIMAXON. The principal of BIMAXON is to collect all needed data into a common data environment (CDE) and then distribute only the necessary data to the relevant person(s) and devices at just the right time throughout a building's lifecycle. (You can read more about BIMAXON at our CEO Donatas Aksomitas' blog that he started earlier this year.)

BIMAXON is capable of reading and exporting data from Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® NavisWorks®, and in the near future we plan to launch it on other BIM-based software. BIMAXON data is collected in cloud-based servers, which can be accessed by a device, like a phone, tablet, or headgear. The latter, however, brings AR (Augmented Reality) into the picture by using a device like Microsoft® HoloLens®, which can be used for Facility Management. We have already used our BIM workflow for existing buildings that do not have a BIM model by using 3D-reality-capturing technology in combination with CDE and AR: we scan the building, collect the data in the cloud, and then display it through HoloLens.

We’ll have a pair of HoloLens that you can try out for yourself by dropping by at our booth (#20) at BILT. See with your own eyes what’s up-and-coming!

See you in Aarhus! #BILTeur

What is BILT?

It’s basically a gathering of BIM experts from around the world to learn from each other. Although the conference has undergone a name-change – formerly known as the Revit Technology Conference (RTC) – it draws Revit professionals (like us!) and, at the same time, seeks to attract users of other technologies. The BILT Conference serves to reach out to a wider community of professionals who work at various stages along the whole spectrum of a building’s lifecycle. As a dual-purpose acronym, “BILT” stands for “Buildings Infrastructure Lifecycle, supported by Technology” and also “Building and bringing Industry Leadership Together.”

Thanks to all who participated in our webinar on using ‘Template Project’ for framing project documentation in Revit®!

Here's an AGACAD Sneakpeek:

During the webinar, our architectural engineer showed how to:

  • Frame walls including main framing, nailers and sidings
  • Easily generate Sheathing layouts by predefined configurations
  • Create a Template Project from scratch or from an existing project
  • Set up a Template Project in your Current Project
  • Create Shop Drawings with automatically generated sheets

For the full webinar recording, please contact us at events@agacad.com

Please feel free to download a free trial to try out our framing software for yourself!
