Review of AGACAD’s global growth and activities in 2016

Company news
January 17, 2017

Life at AGACAD is always dynamic, and the past year was no exception. The company continued its international growth and constant innovation to secure ever greater BIM benefits for (and with) AEC leaders worldwide. Here are a few highlights of our work in 2016.

CLIENTS AND GROWTH

Licences for AGACAD’s BIM productivity software exceeded 11,000 in 2016 as sales continued to grow at a double-digit pace. Meanwhile:

  • We began documenting client success stories, which we invite you to read.
  • Users now include Revit professionals in 130 countries, with the most licences in the USA, Canada, The Netherlands, and the UK. Growth was fastest last year in Germany, Sweden, Norway, and Canada.
  • The fastest-growing products were Smart Hangers (software to lay out supports and hangers for ducts, pipes, cable trays, conduits, and other objects) and our Wood and Metal Framing suites (for designing wood/ light-gauge steel-frame walls, floors, trusses and roof rafters), whose user bases all doubled in the year. Demand was also especially strong for Excel2R (which imports MS Excel tables into Revit projects keeping the same style and format) and Smart Browser (Revit Family management software).

INNOVATION

We continued to expand the AGACAD portfolio of exclusive BIM tools and solutions. In 2016 we introduced:

PARTNERS

Our global network of business partners grew to 17 through new agreements with France’s Eurostudio Infographie for French-speaking markets and Focus Software of Norway.

Other partners continued their good work in North America, Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, the Nordics, Central and Western Europe, Russia and elsewhere. Several provided feedback on the occasion of our 25th anniversary.

INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

Among the many gatherings in which we participated in 2016, these stand out.

  • At the Revit Technology Conference “RTC Europe 2016” in Portugal in October, AGACAD exhibited and provided a high-level speaker for the conference.
  • At “Practice BIM 2016”, the largest BIM event in Russia, in St. Petersburg in April, AGACAD CEO Donatas Aksomitas gave a lecture on the importance of common standards in BIM for simplifying collaboration among project participants.
  • At “Digital Construction 2016”, the largest international BIM conference in the Baltics, AGACAD CEO Donatas Aksomitas was recognized with an award for major contributions to the implementation of BIM in Lithuania and construction sector digitalization.

A GROWING TEAM

Our team of outstanding professionals also continued to grow during the year to help us effectively meet the needs and wishes of our clients. We were joined by:

  • a new Application Engineer – an architect who is passionate about BIM
  • another outstanding Client Care Executive, this time from the USA
  • 3 more skilled Software Developers

So that’s 2016 at AGACAD in a nutshell.

Stay tuned for more (even bigger and better) advances during 2017!
