A new update of MEP Hangers BIM solution for Revit has been released.
With the latest change, MEP Hangers witnessed a comeback of IFC compatibility as well as the addition of a new feature which will allow you to create more precise Hanger placement rules.
Did it happen that you don’t have an RVT file to link and only IFC is available? That won’t be a problem! Just link IFC, bind it, and replace all your IFC pipes and ducts with Revit models using our MEP Hangers tool. It only requires 2 easy steps.
- First, set insulation thickness, if any, in the configuration:
- Now you only have to click “Replace IFC Ducts/Pipes” and choose which elements will be replaced.
But those are not the main news. Today we will focus our attention on MEP Hangers configuration settings. Thanks to the new updates, you can set new and more precise filters while selecting where you will connect hangers and how they will be distributed all over your system. You will find new buttons in Configuration menu here:
Both buttons will open the same looking menu with Revit icon from where you can access the list of shared parameters. In this panel you will be able to select filters for your elements.
You can filter your elements based on the options for customization that are in front of You.
Using the host filter, maybe you would like to set a set of rules to place different hangers depending on the diameter of Pipe/Duct? Here you can see how it´s done:
Imagine that you need to limit some hanger type only to the ducts of a certain diameter: That´s how you can do it:
Or maybe the type of the hanger will depend on the weight of the Pipe/Duct? There is no problem:
With those new options, now It’s possible to establish how the whole system will be hanged with just one configuration of rules.
You can choose the type of hanger depending on the diameter and shape of the duct, placement spacing depending on the length of it and insert hangers for the whole system. Everything with one click!
So, those are the updates that have been made to MEP Hangers this time around. Current users: if you haven’t already done so, click the little red dot in the TOOLS4BIM Dock to download the latest version and put these updates to good use.
